Supplements in the GLP-1 Era: Fiber, Protein and Electrolyte Formats Brands Are Launching

The rise of GLP-1 weight-management medication has quietly rewritten the supplement shelf. Customers on these treatments, and the much larger group who follow the same eating patterns without medication, are looking for products that help them eat less and still feel well: more protein, more fiber, better hydration and digestive comfort. For a brand owner this is one of the clearest format opportunities of 2026.

What customers are actually buying

  • Protein in small servings. Appetite is lower, so 15–20 g sachets, ready-to-mix shots and protein coffee replace the 30 g scoop.
  • Fiber as a daily ritual. Psyllium, inulin, partially hydrolysed guar gum and acacia in sachets or gummies, positioned around fullness and regularity.
  • Electrolytes without sugar. Sodium, potassium and magnesium stick packs, often with a light flavour and no added sugar.
  • Digestive comfort. Probiotics, digestive enzymes and ginger-based blends for the nausea and bloating customers talk about openly on social media.
  • Muscle and skin support. Collagen peptides and creatine in beauty-led packaging, because rapid weight loss raises concerns about muscle and skin tone.

Formats that fit a first launch

Stick packs and sachets are the natural format: single-serve, easy to carry, easy to sample. They do involve printed foil, so the artwork needs to be final before the quotation is final. Gummies work for fiber and electrolytes aimed at a younger audience. Capsules remain the simplest route for probiotics, enzymes and magnesium.

Claims: the line you cannot cross

This category attracts regulators because it sits next to medication. Supplements cannot claim to treat side effects, to replace a prescription or to cause weight loss. Permitted language is about nutrition: "a source of fiber", "contributes to normal muscle function", "supports hydration". Build the label from the permitted claims list in each market, not from the social media conversation.

A practical product line

Many brands launch three products together: a protein-and-fiber sachet for the morning, an electrolyte stick for the day and a digestive capsule for the evening. One brand voice, three repeat-purchase items, one registration project.

5FINE develops supplement lines in these formats with GMP-certified partner factories in Thailand and coordinates Thai FDA registration and nutrition analysis as part of the project. Send us the concept and the target market and we will outline the formats and documentation involved.

Can a supplement be marketed for people using GLP-1 medication?

The product can be positioned around protein, fiber and hydration needs, but it cannot claim to treat side effects or interact with medication. Keep the claims nutritional and check the rules in each market.

Which format is cheapest to start with?

Capsules in a stock bottle usually involve the fewest one-time costs. Sachets add printed foil, and gummies add a mould and flavour development.

How is a supplement registered in Thailand?

As a food product, with nutrition analysis and specifications for each active. Registration is coordinated as part of the project and charged once per product.
